In 2019 Founder and Physician Dr Ona was examining her patient when her eyeglasses kept sliding down her face until it fell onto her patient. Her research in 2020 revealed no one was designing eyewear for diverse facial features, wide nose bridges and high cheek bones. Her slogan, It's not your nose, it's your eyewear, comes from the problem not being your beautiful nose you were born with but the eyewear not thinking about you during their design process. Tribal Eyes was founded in the summer of 2020, with designs that have gone beyond the physical boundaries of a pair of glasses, infusing culture and fit into an everyday wearable kaleidoscope of traditional motifs. By focusing on bigger noses, wide nasal bridges, high cheek bones or no nasal bridges we are changing the narrative that eyewear is a one-size fits all or monochromatic fashion accessory.
